About – Philosophy

In 2019, I received my doctorate in philosophy from the University of California, Irvine. My research there focused on Kant, Hegel, and key concepts of German Idealism. I also taught philosophy at the University of California and California State University for about 5 years.

My overall goal in philosophy is to try and produce a map of the philosophical positions people have taken, showing central points of agreement and disagreement and how these cascade down into their systems. I began this work before my graduate school, and used graduate school to sharpen my skills and deepen my knowledge of the field.

I have also had a long-standing interest in Asian philosophies, particularly Buddhism, and write occasionally about those topics as well.

As always, thanks for reading! If you ever want to get in touch to talk philosophy or what have you, drop me a line at kcalizadeh@gmail.com, or at any of the social media links below.
